. . .Don’t know when I’ll be back again!
That’s right. The specs are in. My last transfer will be spent in Faro! It is in the Algarve region of the country. It is the southern most tip of Portugal. Only one hour from Spain. Two hours from Seville. And four hour from Gibraltar. I’m flying out tomorrow to serve with Sister Conrad. It’s going to be a lot of fun! Sister Luciano and Landbeck will handle things here in Ponta Delgada for another transfer!
I am going to miss all the great members and friends I have met on the Açores. I love them all.
I love these friends of mine.
So many great things happened this week! We spent the last couple of weeks trying to find members who haven’t been to church in a while and win their hearts by giving them cookies. It has been a fun. Some of these people said they never wanted the missionaries to call on them again. But, it is amazing how open people can be when you come bearing cookies.
We had a little bit of a scare on Sunday. We were awake and dressed ready for church. We were half way through our studies when the Elders from our district came knocking. They asked “Are you guys alright?” “Yes Elder. Why?” “Did no one tell you about the time change, they’re gonna start passing the sacrament.” “WHAT NO!!!!” We pulled on our shoes and ran all the way to church. Thankfully the chapel is close to our house. We made it just in time for the sacrament. I am sure that it’s probably not the first time someone has missed church when the clocks change. But not cool when it’s the missionaries. And is it especially not cool when it is the last Sunday you will get to meet with this exceptional group of Saints. Glad we made it.
Later that evening we had a musical fireside about Easter. It was amazing to be able to testify of our Lord on the day of his Resurrection. To remember his sacrifice and to know that he lives and loves each of us! I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter weekend!
