Many of you have probably heard that we were hit by a hurricane this week. They named it Hurricane Alex.
Basically it was windy and a little rainy. The worst thing was the ocean. The waves were washing over the harbor walls that are about 14 meters (45 feet) high. It looked the ocean was having a party.
Before the storm hit, we got a call from the Mission Home. Sis. Tavares told us “DON’T YOU DARE LEAVE YOUR HOUSE!!!”. So we stayed inside for most of the morning.
By the afternoon, we were calling the members asking if it was okay for us to come out. Thankfully, no one we know got hurt. 🙂
On Monday, before the storm came, we had the pleasure of getting on an airplane to go to Lisbon for the day! Ah, the perks of being an Sister Training Leader. We get to go traveling. 🙂
We had Mission Council (We call it Jedi Council) on Tuesday. It was great to see other missionaries. I have to admit, sometimes it gets a little lonely on an island in the middle of the ocean.
We got to see Sister Nielsen. She is still super cute and happy.
On Saturday we had a really fun activity. The members called it the Noite dos Sopas (Night of Soups). Everyone made their own soup and brought it to the church to eat and share!
Clearly, there had to be a competition between the members as to whose soup was best. It was a lot of fun. Another great week in the great country of Portugal.
